Accountability

Product Manager is accountable for regional portfolio management of passenger cars and commercial vehicles products for China and ensure that products within the portfolio are effectively positioned (good, better, best) to deliver customer value and maximize profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Analyzes market trends, business needs and identify effective solutions and business impacts.
  • Build ups market insights and converts market changes into opportunities for growth.
  • Develops, and implements both long-term and short-term product line strategies to ensure that products within the portfolio are effectively positioned to deliver customer value and maximize profitability.
  • Manages one suitable product mix to meet the requirements of customers, applications, and end uses in China Engine oil markets, in alignment with the product line goals and business segment objectives.
  • Implements marketing requirements including product positioning, pricing, promotion, and distribution strategies.
  • Ensures alignment with Sales, Marketing and global PMG teams on strategy and tactics to successfully implement the business plan in pursuit of growth targets.
  • Aligns sales objectives with internal stakeholders, coordinate and lead the internal efforts to deliver financial results.
  • Provides tactical support to target customers, OEMs and potential channel partners with product and services related issues, with the provision of market insight, analytical support and guidance as required.
Requirements – Education, Experience, Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering, chemical, mechanical or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience. Experiences in commercial is preferable.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills with both internal and external audiences with the ability to build relationships and effectively implement.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with strong sense of ownership; Well organized and principled.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organization and business team environment.
  • A creative thinker as it relates to analysis and product positioning.
  • Able to travel (regionally and potentially globally) up to 50%.
Considered a Plus
  • Experience in transportation product management, marketing, sales, project management.
  • A master’s degree or MBA optional.
